Thomas E. Treynor (Age 83)On Sunday, June 10, 2007, Thomas E. Treynor, 83, died at University Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Tom is survived by his daughter, Carol T. Bowen of St. Leonard, MD; grandchildren, Charles and Mark Bowen, Amy, Krause and Robert Bowen; great-grandchildren, Amanda, Ashley, Amber, Katie, Emily, Monica, Kyle and Erin; great-great grandchild, Matthew Miller; and sister, Mary Harrison. He is predeceased by his wife Catherine Treynor and dear friend, Doris Fisher.Tom was born on July 23, 1923 in Washington, DC. The Marine Corp called at an early age where he learned among other things the art of bookbinding. After 8 years of service to his country, Tom continued in the bookbinding trade by working for Simons and National Publishing Company in Washington, DC. In 1961, Tom was elected business agent for Local 4 and later elected President of the newly formed Local 144B Bookbinders Union. There he presided over nearly 800 members of Graphic Communications International Union until his retirement in 1986. Upon retirement, Tom took up his favorite hobbies fulltime including woodworking and traveling. A memorial gathering will be held at the Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8125 Southern Maryland Blvd. (Rt. 4 & Fowler Rd.) Owings, MD on Tuesday, June 19th from 10 am until a memorial service at 11 am. Interment Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suitland, MD.
