Thornell Hanckock Jr. was born June 3, 1959, the oldest of six children. He was proud to be a native Washingtonia and a die hard Redskin fan. He lived in a close-knit community in "Trinidad" Northwest Washington, D.C. It was in this community where Squeeky made life-long friends. Thornell was educated in the District of Columbia Public School System. Graduated from Dunbar Senior High, 1978, University of Phoenix, Associate Degree 2012 and Bachelor Degree 2014. Accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior as a child. Remain faithful through time. Thornell's life wsa undoubtly a testimony to all that crossed his path. It was impossible to know him and not love him. Over coming many obstacles in front of him. Succeeding obstacle and breaking barriers. Through all his good work. He was a loving and caring person, known to share and help anyone he could. He shared his love and understanding with all. Having a bubbly, energetic and fun loving personality. Always willing to assist his mother, wife, relatives, neighbors and countless true friends. Held various jobs: John and Pete Sheffey at Corner store, Lustine Cheverly, Mercedes Benz Dealer, Baily Community Shelter, United Way Shelter, Better Home and Gardens Realtor, self- employment Tax Preparer, Uber and Lyft driver. Thornell met Lillian Washington. To Thornell, Lillian was exquiste and their intial meeting was certanity " Love at first sight". Thornell took Lillian as his bride and this dedicated union result in an all ready made family. Thornell called her "Baby". He was extremely proud of them all. He was a nurturer and caregiver and his family was the most important thing. Abdullah became his grandfather pride and joy, his side kick no matter where they went. He derived great pleasure for caring for his family and could always be counted on to provide love and support. He was happiest when he was doing things for and with his family. Thornell had many talents and wore a many of hats. Having a delightful personality, and infectious smile, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a great conversationalist. He fully embraced the wonders of life. Always kind and opened his heart and arms to anyone. A true gem to his immediate and extended families, friends, coworkers, card playing community, and last but not lease the boys under the tree. His boys were all brothers to him. In the end, he touched the lives of many people and left long lasting impressions that will never be forgotten. It wsa at Washington Hospital Center that Thornells "Book of Life", was closed as he was called home on March 28, 2019. Thornell is proceeded in death with son Thornell Price Jr; father Thornell Hancock Sr.; his siste, Valerie (Marvin McGill) and niece, Tia McGill. Those were lives were touched and who remain to remember him with love an gratitude are: Mary Hancock, mother; Genevea Bell, grandmother; Mary Conway, mother-in-law; four loving and treasured siblings, Jackie, Evan, John, and Patricia; his beloved nieces and nephews, Channell, Nia, Kevin, Tavone, Toby, Treyon, and Willie; daughter, Octavia; grandchildren, Tariq, Abdullah, Syrian, Eshan, Jendaya, and Faraj; sisters and brothers-in-law, MaryAnn, Sylvia, Celina, Celestine, Robert and Larry; a host of great nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and cousins; devoted best friend, Yolanda Carter.
