Tillie Ruth Jackson, was born February 19, 1953 in Washington, DC the daughter of Rosa Lee Bell and Hudson Nathaniel Newberry; she passed suddenly on June 18, 2018 at the age of 65. Tillie was born and raised in Washington, DC and attended and graduated from Ballou High School. Soon after high school she met her soon to be husband, Richard Kenneth Jackson. They married on August 9th, 1986. The young couple continued on with their studies; Tillie attended the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) where she studied graphic arts. Tillie was a tremendously talented woman and a gifted visual artist. She owned her own screen printing business, TJ Graphics. She was also an amazing horticulturist who loved to make things grow and a master of any creative endeavors she undertook. She loved to travel abroad to places such as England, France, Honduras, Mexico, etc. She was a family woman and an outstanding mother to many! She offered her help and support to her family and friends whenever they needed her. Tillie’s most beloved role in life was that of a new “Grandma” to her twin grandsons Leo and Jackson. Beloved wife of the late Richard Jackson; devoted mother of Nicole Marie Jackson of Ft. Washington, MD and Valencia L. Morr and son-in-law, Eli Morr of Upper Marlboro, MD; dear sisters, Mary Bell of Oxon Hill, MD, and Augusta Jackson of Manassas, VA, brothers Frank Bell of Hyattsville, MD and William Newberry of Washington, DC; a loving Aunt Margret Gross of Washington, DC, loving grandmother of Leo and Jackson Morr and her fur baby, Winter. And a host of nieces, nephews, close friends and relatives. In addition to her parents, Tillie was predeceased by her brothers the late Gregory Newberry and Jerome Bell.
