Timothy James Manley, Jr., affectionately known as Timmy, passed away on March 12, 2025, at his home in Dunkirk, MD. Born on August 26, 1975, in Washington, DC, Timmy lived a life full of passion, adventure, and unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and community.
Timmy was the beloved son of Brenda Linger (née Kitchen, married to Garrett Linger) of St. Leonard, MD, and Timothy Manley, Sr. (married to Melody Manley) of Myrtle Beach, SC. He was a devoted brother to Michelle Miller (Tommy), Chris Manley, and Katie Manley (engaged to Steve Miller), as well as a cherished uncle and godfather to Thomas Kemp Miller III and Madison Grace Miller, both of whom he adored.
A proud graduate of DeMatha Catholic High School, Timmy excelled on the lacrosse field before continuing his education at St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA, where he played lacrosse and earned a Master’s degree in Chemistry. He spent many years living in King of Prussia, PA, where he built a vibrant career, blending his love for people, business, and community service.
Timmy’s professional journey was as dynamic as his personality. He worked as a bartender and manager at Manayunk Brewing Company and tended bar at Rock Lobster, ICE Nightclub, and Champps. He even owned his own bar, Farley’s, along with two flower shops, Green Lane Flower Shop and Fern Flower Shop. As a promoter for Jim Beam, Timmy traveled far and wide, forming unforgettable connections and sharing legendary stories—none more so than his trips to deliver special orders for Kid Rock. He also had the honor of working with Frank Howard of the Washington Senators, an icon he remembered fondly from his childhood.
Together with his sister Michelle, he co-founded APS Merchandise from the basement of his townhouse in King of Prussia, a venture that grew into National Ink and Stitch, now a thriving business in their hometown of Owings, MD.
However, Timmy’s true calling was in service to others. Timmy lived out his lifelong dream as a Firefighter/Paramedic with Anne Arundel County Fire Department, where he forged unbreakable bonds with his firehouse family and retired at the rank of Lieutenant. He was a longtime volunteer with the Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Department and the Calvert ALS unit, always ready to answer the call—sometimes running straight from the print shop to the scene to assist those in need.
Outside of work, Timmy’s greatest joy came from music, sports, and sharing experiences with those he loved. He never missed a chance to see Billy Joel, Jimmy Buffett, or Kenny Chesney live, and he followed Mr. Greengenes up and down the East Coast. A dedicated Washington Redskins (Commanders), Washington Capitals, and Baltimore Orioles fan, he bled team colors through every season—though he occasionally compromised for his mom and joined her at a Nationals game.
Beyond his career and passions, Timmy was always there for those in need. Whether delivering a meal, making a donation, participating in a fundraiser, or simply checking in on someone going through a tough time, he always found time to help. His kindness and generosity touched countless lives.
Timmy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Mary Manley of Landover Hills, MD, and Robert and Betty Kitchen of Huntingtown, MD, as well as his uncles Pat Manley, Thomas Manley, and John Manley; aunts Sally Ring and Kate Manley; cousins Dennis Michael Henley, Mark Manley, and Nicole Manley; and several brothers in uniform.
He leaves behind an extensive network of family, friends, and colleagues who will forever cherish his laughter, his huge smile, his legendary bear hugs, and the unwavering support he gave to everyone in his life.
