Pastor Victor Lee Simpson of Prince Frederick, MD, died peacefully on Monday, June 4, 2018, at the age of 59. He was born on November 18, 1958 in Bastrop, LA, to Louie Allen and Valdean [Holland] Simpson. Vic graduated from Ouachita Baptist University with a degree in psychology, followed by a masters degree from New Orleans Theological Seminary and a doctrine from Midwestern University. He spent 40 years as a pastor. He married Janice L. Christian in 1984 and they spent 31 years serving churches in Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, and Maryland. The last 16 years they served as pastor and wife of Emmanuel Church in Huntingtown, MD. In 2015, Vic lost the love of his life with the passing of Janice. He loved his family, friends, and his ministry. His passion was evangelical missions and he was a sought after teacher at ministers networks across the nation. He traveled all over the world to share his devotion for Christ. He was known for his sense of humor and ability to make his preaching relatable to all who heard. It is said; the greatest gift you can receive in life is that of friendship. Vic leaves behind a legacy of being a selfless, giving friend to many people around the world. He is survived by his two children; a son, Christian Allen and a daughter Victoria Leigh, both of Prince Frederick. He is also survived by a sister, Connie Patrick, and her husband Ed, of Bastrop, LA and two nieces Karen and Cheryl Watson of Shreveport, LA. A Celebration of Life will be held at Bethel Way of The Cross, Huntingtown, MD on Saturday, June 9th, from 3 to 5 pm. A visitation will follow at Emmanuel Church, Huntingtown, MD from 6 to 8 pm.
