Virginia Antonio-Knepp

Virginia Gasalao Antonio-Knepp (“Virgie”), 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 19, 2020, due to complications related to Alzheimer’s, in Moorefield, WV. She was born on February 5, 1936 in the Philippines to Tedioso and Preciosa Gasalao. Virgie came to the United States in the fall of 1961 as part of an exchange visitor’s program for nurses. She eloped and married Proceso C. Antonio, Jr. (“June”), another native Filipino, on July 5, 1962, who preceded her in death on November 3, 1979. They met while both were working in New York City. June was in the United States Navy and Virgie was a Registered Nurse. She retired from nursing in 1996. Virgie is survived by her second husband, Edward Knepp, whom she met on a blind date set up by mutual friends and got married in December 1987; her two daughters and their husbands Joy and Zak Yazel, and Kendra and Greg Wilson; grandchildren, Nicole Pontanilla, Emily Pontanilla, Hunter Wilson, Damon Wilson and Logan Wilson.
