It is with deep sorrow and reverence that we announce the passing of Vladimir Richard Meterko, who departed this world peacefully at the age of 96 on December 16, 2024. Born on September 26, 1929, in Cherry Tree, Pennsylvania, Vladimir's life was a remarkable testament to dedication, resilience, and a profound love for his family and country.

Vladimir honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War and subsequently devoted 41 years to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, culminating his career as a supervisor in the latent fingerprint division. His contributions to the agency were significant and will be remembered as a vital part of the annals of American justice.

In 1954, Vladimir married his beloved Norma Jean Hutton, with whom he shared a life rich in love and adventure until her passing on July 15, 2002. He is survived by his two sons, as well as a daughter and five cherished grandchildren. Though he outlived all his siblings, he held their memories dear and carried their love in his heart.

A Graveside Service will be held at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD 20623 on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 1:00 pm. Friends, family, and all who knew and respected him will be welcomed to celebrate the legacy of a man whose integrity and commitment to service profoundly impacted the lives of many.

Vladimir Richard Meterko will forever be remembered for his unwavering dedication, his contributions to public service, and the enduring love he shared with his family. May he rest in peace, and may his memory be a source of inspiration to us all.

Vladimir was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Meterko and his parents, Michael and Mary Meterko.
