Wava JockischWava Rosalind Jockisch, age 83 of Dunkirk Maryland formerly of Madison County Virginia, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at the Calvert County Nursing Center, Prince Frederick, Maryland. She is the beloved wife of the late Melvin W. Jockisch. She is survived by her son Maurice D. Joseph and his wife Barbara B. Joseph of Dunkirk, Maryland, four grandchildren, Robert Joseph, Charles Joseph and his wife Kathy, Eric Joseph, and Christine Joseph also six great-grandchildren. She is the sister of Juanita Walker (Robert), Garth Welches (Phyllis), Arlene Brown, and Marcella Cunningham. Her brother Kenneth Welches predeceased her.Mrs. Jockisch moved to Calvert County, Maryland four years ago moving from Madison County, Virginia where she had lived over 33 years. She was member of the Walkers United Methodist Church in Madison County, and was a member of the United Methodist Women Cheerful Workers. She owned and operated a nursing home in Forestville, Maryland for 15 years, and enjoyed playing the organ, guitar, and singing at various nursing homes and churches. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 21, 2004 12 noon at the Lee Funeral Home Calvert, P.A. 8125 Southern Maryland Blvd. Owings, MD with the Reverend Robert Wagner of the Grace Brethren Church officiating. Interment on Tuesday, June 22, 2004 11:00 A.M. at the Holly Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Charlottesville, Virginia.Memorial contributions may be made to Walkers United Methodist Church, 6565 Oak Park Road, Oak Park, VA 22730 or charity of choice.
