Wayne Joseph Miller, Sr.

Wayne “Lovey” Joseph Miller, 42, died on June 9, 2010 at the University of Maryland Hospital. He and his family moved from Clinton, Maryland to St. Leonard six years ago. Wayne was the beloved husband of Wendy Miller for 18 years and a loving father to Cassidy, Halie, Wayne, Jr. and Lila Miller. He was the son of Joan Miller and the late Henry P. Miller and the son-in-law of Carl and Carol Hager, Sr. \n \nWayne was the brother of Phil and Shelley Miller, Ronnie and Charlotte Miller, Cherie Barry, Betty and Dale Fugate and Lynn and Ted Dunston. He was a brother-in-law to Carl and Cathy Hager, III and Donnie and Pam Hager. “Uncle Wayne / Uncle Lovey” was a favorite uncle to many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other family and friends. \n \nHe attended St. John the Evangelist in Clinton, Maryland and graduated from Surrattsville High School.\n \nWayne enjoyed creating flower gardens and working on his farm, Miller Farms of Clinton, Maryland. With the help of his sister Betty, they expanded the business to include the Farm Market Nursery. His main function for the family business was as Produce Buyer and Wholesaler. He was a member of the Calvert County Farm Bureau and attended the DC Farmer’s Market at RFK Stadium.\n \nGrowing up on the farm kept him very busy and instilled a strong work ethic, love of nature and the respect of life and family at a very early age. All of this he passed on to his children and nieces and nephews.\n \nHe loved spending time with his children riding the four wheeler. Playing poker was a favorite pass time, along with boating.\n \nWayne was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Prince Frederick, Maryland, where his services will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2010. Interment will be at Chesapeake Highland Memorial Gardens in Port Republic following the service. \n \nContributions for the Miller children’s education may be sent to, Wayne J.
