Wayne Oakey Pritchard

Wayne “Oakey” Pritchard, of Waldorf, age 75, died September 6, 2013 at his residence with family by his side. Born March 3, 1938 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late John Noel and the late Marie Williams Pritchard. Wayne served in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer from 1955-1958. He retired from Craftsman Press as a Forklift Operator. Wayne had a big heart, was generous and helped everyone. He loved yard work, carpentry, automotive work and always making sure his children were fed. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Mildred; children Barbara Arrington, Donna Sarnacki, Catherine Sweet and Linda Pritchard; 14 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother Paul; sisters Rosemarie and Shirley and a host of other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers John and Jimmy.Family and friends will be received at Lee Funeral Home, Inc. Branch Ave. and Coventry Way on Tuesday, September 17 from 2 until time of service at 4 p.m. Interment private.
