William Joseph Geidner

William Joseph GeidnerWith his family by his side, Bill Geidner passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 17, 2007 in Vero Beach, FL. He was born William Joseph Geidner on April 24, 1936 in Youngstown, OH. Upon high school graduation Bill enlisted in the US Air Force and had a rewarding 26 year long career. He retired as a Chief Master Sergeant from the Air Force Honor Guard in August 1980. He was preceded in death by his parents, William F. Geidner and Arlene M.(Boggins) Geidner, and two brothers, John R. (Corky) Geidner and Michael F.Geidner. He married Paula Weiske in January 1958 and from that marriage there are four loving daughters - Teresa (Matt) Clark, Huntingtown, MD; Pamela (Kenneth) Yount, Welcome, MD; Melanie (Fred) Valdez, San Antonio, TX; and Laurene(Russell) Tilton, Owings, MD. In addition, he shared close relationships with nephews Jeffrey Geidner of AL and James Geidner of FL. In August 1986, he married Darlene (Hall, McCoy). He has one stepson, Sean McCoy, of Phoenix, AZ. He was "Pop-Pop" to eight beloved grandchildren, and he was loved by numerous nieces and nephews. He touched many lives and his memory will live forever in our hearts. Family will receive friends at the Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8125 Southern Maryland Blvd. (Route 4 & Fowler Rd.) Owings, MD on Tuesday, May 29 from 6 pm to 9 pm A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church 1601 W. Mt. Harmony Rd, Owings, MD on Wednesday, May 30 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow with military honors at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD.
