William Austin Wilkes, 83, of Clinton, Maryland, passed away at his home on the morning of February 2, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones after a long battle with prostate cancer. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Audrey D. Wilkes, daughter, Lori Bookhard (Bryan), two sons, Eric Snyder, Brian Snyder (Shirley), three grandchildren, Katie Snyder, Mia Bookhard, Kierstyn Bookhard and two great-grandchildren, Dakota and Sky (twins), three brothers, Joseph, Stephen (Jane) and Philip (Lenny) Wilkes. He is predeceased by three sisters, Sharon Francois, Faye Perry, and Brenda Wilkes. William (Bill) was born in Upper Marlboro, Maryland and lived most of his life in Clinton, Maryland. He graduated from Archbishop John Carroll High School and completed some college level courses. He worked for the Federal Government for 42 years, retiring from Health and Human Services in 2001. He worked as a Program Analyst for the OIG, Office of Audit Service. He enjoyed jogging, reading, playing baseball, playing cards and spending time with his family. A memorial gathering will be held at St. John’s the Evangelist Church in Clinton, MD on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 10:00am with a memorial service following at 11:00am.

Family & Friends: If you plan to send flowers, please send them directly to the church the morning of February 12, 2025 between 8am and 9am ET. Do not send any flowers to the funeral home.
Due to inclement weather, we have postponed the funeral services for Mr. William Wilkes until Friday, February 14, 2025.
The Memorial Mass will be at 9:30am
and the Memorial Gathering will immediately follow the Mass
Please note: the Visitation will be AFTER the Mass
