Wilson Maurice Sneade

Wilson Maurice Sneade, 85, was born on January 2, 1928 to the late William and Gladys Sneade in Princess Anne, MD. Surrounded by his family at home, he passed peacefully into God’s presence on July 4, 2013.He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Peggy Ruth Sneade; beloved father to four children, son Mike Sneade and his wife Sandy, daughter Benita Sneade, son Dave Sneade and his wife Lynne, and daughter Cheryl Hirschman and her husband Dave. Also survived by a brother, Ed Sneade and his wife Barbara, eight grandchildren, grandson Rick and his wife Krysten, granddaughter Kim Shifflett and her husband Ernie, granddaughter Karen Kirk and her husband Mark, grandson Tim Hirschman and his wife Ashlie, grandson Jason Sneade and his wife Kristen, granddaughter Dana Banyasz and her husband Ben, granddaughter Jen Chapmon and her husband Josh, granddaughter Kelsey Sneade; and great-grandchildren, Jake and Ben Shifflett and Addison and Aiden Kirk. He is preceded in death by granddaughter Marcy Sneade and great-grandson Landon Sneade.He served his country as a US Marine from 1946-1948. Following a 20-plus year successful career in executive banking, he along with his wife Peggy and son Dave founded Sneade’s Hardware, now known as Sneade’s Ace Home Center. He enjoyed wood working, bird watching, working in the yard and spending time with family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be missed by many.Family and friends are invited to Lee Funeral Home Calvert (8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD20736) on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Lee Funeral Home. Officiated by Pastor Ralph Nevin of First Baptist Church of Calvert County.Interment will take place on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Chesapeake Highlands Memorial Gardens, Port Republic, MD.In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Calvert Hospice, P.O.
