Zoila Reyes Rivera De Navas

Life Story (English)

Zoila Rivera Navas was born in La Paz, El Salvador on January 6, 1938. She entered eternal rest on May 15, 2022, at the age of 84.  Zoila grew up and lived in San Salvador where she met and married Manuel Navas, who until her passing, was her partner in life.

In 1972, she immigrated to the United States, in pursuit of the American dream. Her love of children led her to start her own business as a childcare professional. She cared for each child as if they were her own. As the children grew older, they continually expressed their love and gratitude by visiting her throughout the years.

Later in life Zoila became a naturalized United States citizen. She was able to achieve this even though she did not speak the English language fluently.  She persevered until she achieved many goals; she was a homeowner, an entrepreneur, and a breast cancer survivor, a battle she fought and won.

Zoila fought tirelessly to ensure her family had everything they needed to be successful in life. She was a generous soul, who helped anyone she could. This was her mission in life.  Zoila was strong, resourceful, brave, resilient and funny.  She loved to garden, watch horror movies, listen to music, and most of all make herself useful.  It was the simple pleasures in life that she enjoyed such as café con pan dulce and ice cream.  Above all else, she loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Even to the last breath, the words she uttered were the names of her beloved family.  The family chain is broken but as God calls us one by one the chain will link again.

She will be dearly missed!!

Life Story (Spanish)

Zoila Rivera Navas nació en La Paz, El Salvador, el 6 de Enero de 1938. Entró en descanso eterno el 15 de Mayo de 2022, a la edad de 84 años.  Zoila creció y vivió en San Salvador, donde conoció y se casó con Manuel Navas, quien hasta su fallecimiento, fue su compañero de vida.

En 1972, emigró a los Estados unidos, en busca del sueño Americano. Su amor por los niños la llevó a comenzar su propio negocio como profesional de cuidado de niños. Cuidaba a cada niño como si fuera suyo. A medida que los niños crecían, continuamente expresaban su amor y gratitud visitándola a lo largo de los años.

Más tarde en la vida, Zoila se naturalizó ciudadana de los Estados Unidos. Ella fue capaz de lograr esto a pesar de que no hablaba el idioma inglés con fluidez.  Ella perseveró hasta que logró muchas metas; era dueña de una casa, empresaria y sobreviviente de cáncer de mama, una batalla que luchó y ganó.

Zoila luchó incansablemente para asegurarse de que su familia tuviera todo lo que necesitaban para tener éxito en la vida. Era un alma generosa, que ayudaba a todo el que podía. Esta era su misión en la vida.  Zoila era fuerte, ingeniosa, valiente, resistente y divertida.  Le encantaba el jardín, ver películas de terror, escuchar música y, sobre todo, ser útil.  Eran los placeres simples de la vida los que disfrutaba, como el café con pan dulce y el helado.  Por encima de todo, le encantaba pasar tiempo con su familia, especialmente con sus nietos.

Incluso hasta el último aliento, las palabras que pronunció fueron los nombres de su amada familia.  La cadena familiar está rota, pero a medida que Dios nos llame uno por uno, la cadena se unirá de nuevo.
